Syl is a young black woman who has known since the age of 16 that it is sink or swim after losing her father unexpectedly. Her desire to rise above the parapet, head and shoulders, has provided strong academic, professional, and entrepreneurial motivation and success. She is acutely aware of the world's racial, economic, and social polarisation, particularly in Africa, and is convinced that a blame game will not work in today's fast-paced world. Syl is determined not only to live, but also to make a difference in the world. She was inspired to start the Young and Independent project by her insatiable desire to shed light on some of the key issues preventing young black people from living spiritually fulfilled, value-added, less materialistic, and financially independent lives. Syl demystifies entrepreneurship and has an impact on young people through her blog, podcasts, YouTube videos, and social media posts. Her primary goal is to boost the continent's economic growth by influencing every young African to change their perspective. Hers is a positive call to action, and she invites you to become a member of the clan.
